Sometimes the best way to strengthen a team isn’t at a desk or in a meeting room — it’s by stepping away together. Taking time to unwind, share a few laughs, and connect outside the usual work setting can make all the difference back in the office.

This past weekend, we brought our team together for a well-deserved team-building retreat that focused on connection, collaboration, and a bit of friendly competition. It was a chance for different departments to engage in new ways, for new hires to feel fully welcomed, and for all of us to step back and appreciate the people behind the roles.

As we return to our work with renewed energy and mutual understanding, it’s clear that events like this are more than a break—they’re an investment in the culture we’re continuously shaping at ISS.
